Astep is an Italian lighting company founded and managed by Alessandro Sarfatti. Oriented to the future Astep continues the path already traced by two great entrepreneurs, Riccardo Sarfatti and Gino Sarfatti, namely the creation of ever better lighting products, making timeless inventions its strong point. Lamps that, regardless of when they were designed, retain their aesthetic and functional power, evolving and adapting to the way we live.
Story of a family
In 1939 Gino Sarfatti founded Arteluce, a company that was the first to introduce design to the world of lighting. In 1978 Riccardo Sarfatti created together with Sandra Severi and architect Paolo Rizzatto, Luceplan, a company that linked design to technology. The choice to collaborate with specialized artisans led Luceplan to establish itself as a company synonymous with “Made in Italy” quality and innovation. Both Arteluce and Luceplan have created lamps that have become icons, appreciated not only for their timeless beauty, but also for the meaning of evolution they contain.
the brands Astep
Astep looks to the future by creating new lamps such as Candela, Nox, Pepa and re-editing icons of the past that today appear extraordinarily current in terms of shape, aesthetics and functionality.
Evolution is the next step
Today Astep creates lamps for the home, objects that place digital technologies in a relevant position and at the center of domestic life. Continuing to honor the evolution of design, Astep also reissues iconic and timeless lamps designed by Gino Sarfatti and Vittoriano Viganò. Astep expresses the desire to combine the quality of life that new digital technologies can offer with respect for people and the environment that has always been central to good design. By embracing both the new and what has been or by combining the work of the great masters of the past and the great minds of the present, Astep aims to advance the relationship between people and environments.
