Franco Bettonica
Franco Bettonica is an appreciated Italian designer and architect. In 1969 together with his colleague Mario Melocchi he created the Cini&Nils brand. Bettonica's ambition led him to anticipate the experiments of the 70s. In this period, design was undergoing major changes and Bettonica faced the challenge by creating avant-garde and functional design objects. In 1972 he designed and built the Cuboluce table lamp. An object still considered very current today. It is a bedside lamp designed to turn it on and off with a simple gesture like raising and lowering the lid. The Cuboluce table lamp is present in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Other products designed by Franco Bettoni include the 1973 Cubobar, the 1970 game table and the revolving magazine rack.
