Le Corbousier
Le Corbusier, was a Swiss architect, urban planner, painter and designer. One of the most influential figures in the history of architecture, and today he is remembered as a master of the modern movement and father of contemporary urban planning. Born and raised in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, at the age of seventeen he designed already a villa for Louis Fallet. After studying at the local School of Decorative Arts, he decides to embark on a journey across Europe that led him to improve and complete his studies on architecture and to meet the greatest exponents in this field. In the course of its existence it has revolutionized the relationship between light and architecture by creating ribbon windows and brise-soleil to shield the solar radiation. He tried to make lighting a pictorial game, as if natural light entered through the window. Among his biggest lighting projects we see those proposed to redesign the city of Chandigarh in India. Today his original designs are reproduced exclusively by Nemo Lighting.
