Matali Crasset
Matali Crasset is a French designer, highly regarded for the creative flair and original design of her projects. She was born in Châlons-en-Champagne in 1965 and moved to Paris to attend the Ecole National Supérieure de Création Industrielle, graduating in 1991. She began her professional training by collaborating with Denis Santachiara on architecture and design projects. Later she started collaborations also with Philippe Starck. The first awards arrive including the "Grand Prize of Design of the city of Paris" in 1997 and the "Grand Prize of the International Press of the criticism of contemporary furniture" in 1999. These are years in which she matures a professional growth that pushes her to open a own studio and to create own brand. She currently works for the most important companies in the world. For Fabbian, she designs Eyes chandeliers and table lamps characterized by a large blown glass diffuser. It is a sphere with three hollow points, where the simplicity of the forms coexist on the one hand and the refinement of the design on the other. Perfect for decorating environments such as the kitchen or living room. She also creates Stick lamps characterized by an Ayous wood diffuser whose shape is inspired by that of a pincer.
