Adam Tihany
Adam D. Tihany was born in 1948 in Transylvania and grew up in Israel, he is one of the most important contemporary interior designers in the contract sector. After graduating from the Milan Polytechnic, he moved to New York in 1976 where he opened his own studio in 1978, embracing various fields of design, from the design of commercial and residential areas to the production of furniture, fittings and graphics. The studio specializes in the design of hospitality design, especially luxury hotels and restaurants, including the A.Mosphere in Dubai, built on the tallest skyscraper in the world on the 122nd floor, the Remi restaurant, opened in Manhattan in the mid-eighties, the Aureole and La Fonda del Sol in New York, the Oro restaurant at the Hotel Cipriani in Venice.
For the lighting brand Kartell he created the Space lamp, whose silhouette recalls the shapes of the Space Needle, the famous tower of the city of Seattle. It is a small abat-jour, 100% rechargeable via a simple electric plug with an autonomy of up to 6 hours.
