Giulio Iacchetti

Giulio Iacchetti

Giulio Iacchetti is a very talented and successful Italian industrial designer. Since he started his career in 1992, he has worked for numerous internationally renowned brands, such as Alessi, Artemide, Fontana Arte, Foscarini, Magis and many more. His design style stands out for the research and definition of new types of objects, such as the Moscardino biodegradable multipurpose cutlery, which he designed together with Matteo Ragni for Pandora Design and which won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in 2001. Iacchetti was also awarded the Prize of Awards for Innovation in 2009, conferred on him by the President of the Italian Republic for his Eureka Coop project, which brought design into large-scale retail trade. This demonstrates its ability to create innovative and functional solutions that respond to the needs of the market and people. Over the years, Iacchetti has shown that he is very attentive to the evolution of the relationship between craftsmanship and design. In 2012 he launched Internoitaliano, a "widespread factory" made up of many artisan workshops with which he signs and produces furnishings and accessories inspired by Italian doing and way of living. In this way, the designer has tried to enhance the Italian artisan tradition and to create products that are in line with the contemporary lifestyle. Parallel to his activity as an industrial designer, Iacchetti has also carried out his personal research towards new design themes, such as that of the cross, which gave rise to the "Cruciale" exhibition and which has been exhibited in prestigious places such as the Museo Diocesan of Milan, the Basilica of Santo Stefano Rotondo in Rome and the Castello di Lombardia in Enna. For Foscarini, Iacchetti has designed the Magneto floor and table lamps, which stand out for the use of an invisible force of a magnet that joins the support stem and the lighting body, allowing the latter to be oriented like a torch, to project the light directing it to your liking. This innovative design once again demonstrates Iacchetti's creativity and ingenuity in creating functional and aesthetically appealing products.
