Aldo Rossi is an Italian designer, trained between 1931 and 1997 at the Milan Polytechnic. He began his career as a professor in 1990 at the Milan Polytechnic and then continued his academic career at American universities such as Harvard and Yale University. His main design activity is in both private and public building design. Among the projects carried out are: the extension of the De Amicis school in Broni and the elementary school in Fagnano Olona, the renovation of the Carlo Felice Theatre in Genoa, the extension of Milan's Linate airport and the reconstruction of the "La Fenice" Theatre in Venice. His work as an architect is also known abroad with projects in Berlin, Fukuoka and Maastricht. Aldo Rossi is also an esteemed designer who has designed designer furniture for important Italian companies such as Alessi, Longoni, Molteni and Unifor. For Artemide he designed the Prometeo floor lamp with 12 standard atmospheres and another 86 to create and store at will.
