Piero Castiglioni
Piero, designer and architect, was born in Milan, and graduated in architecture in 1970, dedicating himself almost exclusively to the realization of lighting projects. Piero Castiglioni began his activity as an architect in the early 1970s, when the European halogen lamp market began to arouse curiosity and interest. With the study of light sources, the Scintilla project begins to take shape. The study of this product focuses from all the technical aspects to the production with quality materials and artisanal assembly. His multi-year activity leads him to participate in various exhibitions and museums, always distinguishing himself for his unique skills of analysis and innovation. He became a university lecturer in various Academies and Faculties, director of the Flare-Architectural Lighting Magazine and co-author of books and manuals on lighting. The experience gained over the years leads Piero Castiglioni to be able to collaborate with many international architects, always expanding and renewing his pool of skills in the field of lighting. Even today, his studio designs and carries out activities that involve the collaboration of qualified professionals in the field of lighting. Among the most popular design objects there are Scintilla, Parola, Sillaba and Cestello.
