Giovanni Barbarto is an architect born in Padova in 1974. His training began with a degree from Architecture university of Venice and subsequently he perfected with an industrial design course in Padova. Barbato showed immediately a great passion for glass and its processing, just to deepen his interest he attended the Abate Zanetti school in Murano. The experience within the school allowed him to start the first collaborations with local glassworks and to give life numerous projects commissioned by local companies. In a short time he became one of the most famous designers in the lighting scene. His style is characterized by simple and essential shapes, studied in detail to give life an idea of perfect movement. During his career Barbato has received numerous awards including the Good Design Award in 2013 for the Spiry collection designed for Axolight. He also designed the Aibu table lamp and the Hoops suspension for the company.
