Timo Ripatti is a Finnish designer born in 1967. After studying architecture and industrial design, he worked for numerous design studios developing interior design projects, exhibitions and lighting and furnishing objects. The designer founded Studio Ripatti in Helsinki and collaborates with several companies in Europe, especially in the product design sector. His works combine aesthetic and poetic qualities with functionality, to create products able to satisfy the needs of man in different contexts, living and not. Ripatti has been collaborating for years with at the forefront companies that allow it to expand in design and use advanced technologies, with an eye to environmental sustainability. During his career Timo Ripatti has received numerous awards including the Furniture of the Year Award in Finland in 2009 and 2010, the honorable mention at the Red Dot in 2012 and the NYCxDESIGN Award at the ICFF in New York in 2016. His works have been exhibited in numerous museums and exhibitions, such as La Triennale di Milano, Design Museum Helsinki and the Living Design Center in Tokyo. Furthermore Ripatti teaches at the University of Aalto in Helsinki and at the Institute of Design and Fine Arts of Lahti. Among the companies with which we work, we find Axolight for which he created U-Light in 2016 and the Cut chandeliers lamp in 2019.
