Alberto & Francesco Meda

Alberto Meda, born in Lenno Tremezzina (Como) in 1945 is considered a master of Italian design. He graduated in mechanical engineering from the Milan Polytechnic. In 1987 and 1989 he designed two historic chairs, lightlight and softlight, for the Alias ​​company, the first of which becomes part of the permanent collection of MoMA. He lives and works in Milan, together with his son Francesco Mena, a young designer with whom he collaborates on various projects for clients such as Alessi, Vitra, Alias, Kartell and Th.Kohl. For the Kartell company they designed Aledin, a LED table lamp, available in two different versions, Tec and Dec, which differ in the shape of the diffuser. Aledin Tec has a flat and adjustable head, which allows to obtain a direct and at the same time directional beam of light. Particularly suitable for use in work environments, on the contrary the Dec version is characterized by the faceted decoration of the cone-shaped diffuser. The light beam is wide and atmospheric, more suitable for home use.
