Dai Sugasawa

Dai Sugasawa
Dai Sugasawa is a Japanese designer, and is the founder of the homonymous design and architecture agency based in Paris. Dai Sugasawa is an eclectic creative who has been able to masterfully blend the culture of his country of origin with a contemporary and technological design. His work reflects a deep respect for Japanese culture, drawing on artistic, aesthetic and philosophical references that are reflected in his projects. Thanks to the richness of his work, he has given life to projects ranging from interior design to the design of public spaces, up to architecture. Japanese design has gained considerable professional experience through collaboration with other great designers, such as Philippe Starck. Together they signed products for famous companies such as Kartell and Driade, giving life to products that represented a further demonstration of his creativity. His creations are distinguished by the skilful use of colours, flowing lines and surprising shapes, which capture attention and stimulate curiosity. Each of his work is a testament to the attention to detail and passion he puts into his craft. Through his projects, Sugasawa has had the opportunity to work around the world, exploring different cultures and influences. This openness has allowed him to further enrich his creative repertoire and to experiment with new solutions and design approaches. For the Italian brand Qeeboo he signs the fish-shaped Abyss table lamp made of recyclable polyethylene, ideal as a light point on the desk or on the bedside table.
