Chia-Ying Lee
Chia-Ying Lee was born in Taiwan and became a designer in industrial design and new media after studying computer science and music at the Interaction Design Institute of Ivrea, an institution in which she graduated in 2006.
Immediately after her studies, she worked for three years for PEGA Design & Engineering and in 2011 she founded her own studio, Studio-IF in Taipei, Taiwan. Her works are the result of the meeting of design, art and technology that are expressed in the production of physical forms enhanced by an innovative installation. Large institutes, such as the National Taiwan Art Museum and JUT Foundation for Arts and Architecture, have collaborated with Studio-IF, reproducing some of his most important creations to be exhibited in shops and art galleries in Europe, Taipei and Beijing.
With her work, Chia-Ying Lee has won several awards such as the IF China Product Design Award, the Taiwan Excellence Award and the SDA Best Design of the Year. In 2015 it was included in the list of the IFFS Asian Star Talent.
For Studio Italia Design she designed the Random suspension lamp, an elegant composition of spheres made of blown glass.
