Paola Monaco di Arianello is a young Italian designer specialising in lighting and product design. She studied industrial design at the Faculty of Architecture in Genoa and at the Lapin Yliopisto University in Lapland, located in the city of Rovaniemi, before specialising in product design at the Milan Polytechnic. For eight years she worked at the Carlotta de Bevilacqua Architecture Studio, developing various projects in the field of lighting for the Italian companies Artemide and Danese. In 2011 she founded her own design and consulting firm. Her works have been published internationally and have received many awards. In particular, the Empatia family of designer lamps has been awarded the prestigious IF Product Design Award and the WallpaperDesign Award 2014 in the "Best Transparency" category. These designer lamps perfectly express the union between the most advanced LED technology and the great Venetian tradition of blown glass. Paola Monaco di Arianello also received the Red Dot Award for her Algorithm LED recessed floor lighting system.
