Silvio De Ponte, Alida Catella

Silvio De Ponte is an architect, lighting designer, scholar, writer and lecturer at the IED in Milan. After graduating in architecture he worked in theater as a set designer. He attended the Domus Academy in Milan in 1990 and obtained a Master in Lightscape Design. Since 1991 in 1998 he worked with Pierluigi Cerri, taking on the role of head of the interior design area and product design. to the customer particularly active and engaging, qualifying Da Ponte as one of the leading experts in experiential marketing. During his profession, Silvio De Ponte has dedicated himself to the design of Hotels, Offices, Showrooms, Public Works, Fairs and Events, Theaters, Residences , Product design and Corporate Identity. His continuous research investigating the relationship between light, touch, color and matter, with the aim of defining new scenarios of or living space, with interior design and industrial product. Alida Catella is a Sicilian designer, moved to Milan. She studied Interior Design at the Artistic Atheneo in Milan and immediately started a small design studio. During the 1980s the studio transformed into a company that would take the name of Coima Image. The studio has dedicated itself to the design of over 110 office buildings and over 900 units of private residences both in Italy and abroad. The continuous search for innovative solutions in the residential sector leads Alida to the creation of a new “Dolce Vita Homes” brand dedicated to eco-sustainable residential projects. Silvio De Ponte and Alida Catella collaborate for Artemide in the creation of the Look at Me suspension lamps. These are modern chandeliers characterized by cylindrical section diffusers with an essential design and studied to guarantee maximum luminous efficiency thanks to the light emitted by the LED source.
